# Identity verification - organisation
Know Your Business (KYB) verification is required for legal entities before you can deposit funds. This process typically takes **10-15 minutes** to complete.
## Step 1: Country of residence
Select your company's country of registration to ensure compliance with local data protection laws.
## Step 2: Find your company
1. Select **France** (or your country)
2. Enter your company name (e.g., "Byzantine Finance")
3. Select your company from the results
Byzantine automatically retrieves company information from official registries.
## Step 3: Company information

**Registration details are pre-filled:**
* Company name
* Entity type (SAS, SARL, etc.)
* Registration number (SIREN/SIRET for French entities)
**Physical address question:**
* Select **"Yes"** if your operating address is the same as your registered address
* Select **"No"** if your physical office is different (you'll enter it manually)
If no, you will need to manually fill the following fields:
* Address line
* City
* Post Code
* State
## Step 4: Business financials
* **Primary currency:** Select EUR or USD (this is your preferred display currency)
* **Source of funds:** Select the origin of your invested assets:
* **Business revenues or income from investments** - For operating companies
* **Third party funds** - For fund managers or intermediaries
* **Owner's capital** - For family office assets
* **Savings** - For personal investment vehicles
* **Estimated annual income:** Select your range (business revenues or investment income)
* **Expected monthly deposits/withdrawals:** Estimate your transaction volume
* **25%+ ownership by legal entity:**
* **Yes** - If another company owns 25%+ of your entity
* **No** - If individuals own 100% (most family offices)
## Step 5: Business activities
**Business description:** Provide a clear description of your company's purpose.
**For holding companies/family offices:**
"Holding company managing family assets. No commercial activity."
**Industry:** Select the closest match:
* For family offices: **"Offices of other holding companies"**
* For other structures: Choose your primary business sector
## Step 6: Company documents
**Company details:** Documents confirming the identity of the company. The following documents are accepted:
* Incorporation certificate
* Excerpt from a state company registry
* Articles & memorandom of association
**Ownership structure:** Documents confirming the identity of the company. The following documents are accepted:
* Shareholder registry or ownership chart
* Statement of information
* Trust agreement
* Partnership agreement
**Source of funds:** Documents confirming the identity of the company. The following documents are accepted:
* Audited financials / end-of-year balance sheet
* Bank / brokerage account statement
* Tax returns
* Invoices to clients proving nature of business (for operating companies)
**(Optional) Representatives authorization:** An optional document proving that the current user indeed has the power to make decisions for the organisation. The following documents are accepted:
* Power of attorney
## Step 7: Regulated partners agreement
You must acknowledge Byzantine's service partners:
✅ **Bridge Building Sp. Z.o.o.** - Registered Virtual Asset Service Provider handling EUR/USD ↔ EURC/USDC conversions
✅ **Keyrock FR** - Provides risk and strategy curation for Byzantine Prime products
**Important:** Byzantine Finance does not hold private keys, make transactions without your consent, or provide investment advice. We provide technology and infrastructure only.
## Step 8: Ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs)
**You must add:**
1. **UBOs (Ultimate Beneficial Owners):** Individuals with 25%+ direct or indirect ownership
2. **Representative/control persons:** Anyone who can legally make decisions for the company (must include the account creator)
**For each UBO, provide:**
* Full name
* Email address
* Role (UBO or Representative)
**What about complex ownership structures?**
If your company is owned by other companies (e.g., 4 holding companies each with 25%), you must list the **individuals** who ultimately own those companies, not the corporate entities themselves.
**Example:**
* ❌ Wrong: "Holding Company A (25%)"
* ✅ Correct: "Jean Dupont (25% via Holding Company A)"
## Step 9: Invite all associated persons to complete an individual verification
All identified UBOs and representatives will need to complete a KYC process. You'll find more information here: [For individuals](/for-individual-accounts).
* Click **"Verify now"** if you are that person to start your KYC process immediately.
* Click **"Send to email"** to send this person an automated email inviting them to complete their KYC.
## Step 10: Wait for verification
Once all associated persons submit their KYC, the file is automatically submitted for review - no further action is needed from your end.
**What happens next:** Byzantine's compliance team reviews your information (typically 24-48 hours)
## Step 11: Account activation!
You'll receive an email when your account is ready to use
