# Making your first deposit

## Step 1: Choose your product

From your dashboard, click **"Deposit"** on your preferred product:

* **ByzPrime EUR (insured)** - Euro-denominated deposits with AON insurance coverage against smart contract failure
* **ByzPrime USD (insured)** - Dollar-denominated deposits with AON insurance coverage against smart contract failure
* **ByzPrime EUR / ByzPrime USD** - Uninsured products with slightly higher returns; secured by overcollateralised lending

Both insured and uninsured products use identical lending strategies. The insured variants carry a small yield reduction reflecting the insurance premium. For more detail, see [Insurance](/documentation/asset-protection/insurance).

## Step 2: Create a deposit order for a specific amount

Enter the amount you wish to deposit. Once confirmed, you will sign the order with your passkey.

## Step 3: Transfer funds

<Info>
  Byzantine generates a unique IBAN exclusively for your account. This IBAN is held by you and only you, cannot be accessed by Byzantine or third parties, and routes funds directly to your blockchain vault.
</Info>

**Option A: Automatic (Recommended)**

1. Scan the QR code with your phone
2. Select your bank (Revolut, Société Générale, etc.)
3. Confirm the pre-filled transfer in your banking app

**Option B: Manual transfer**

1. Click "Transfer manually"
2. Copy the provided IBAN details:
   * Account holder
   * IBAN
   * BIC/SWIFT
   * Reference number (important!)
3. Make a standard bank transfer from your business account

**Transfer time:** 4-5 minutes on average

## Step 4: Automatic deployment

Once funds arrive, they are automatically converted and deployed into the product of your choice. You will receive an email as soon as the funds have been received and processed.

**You start earning returns immediately upon deployment.**

<Info>
  Your EUR is converted to EURC (a euro-denominated stablecoin issued by Circle, backed 1:1 by real euros). Your USD is converted to USDC (the dollar equivalent). When you withdraw, you receive fiat back at the original exchange rate. There is no foreign exchange risk - all EUR exposure is fully hedged. To learn more about stablecoins, see [What is a stablecoin?](/documentation/digital-assets-101/whats-a-stablecoin).
</Info>

## What if I send funds to my IBAN without a deposit order?

The funds will appear as idle balance on your account. They cannot be lost. You will receive an email confirming receipt. You can then deploy them into a product from your dashboard, or withdraw them back to your bank account.
