Self-capping at 22%
If you're in the deep end of staking and restaking protocols, you may have heard of self-capping, also known as a protocol's burst threshold.
Any single entity controlling more than 33% of all Ethereum validators could prevent block finality and damage the chain in ways we have never seen before. In alignment with Ethereum's principles, we've therefore decided to join leading protocols in explicitly limiting ourselves to a maximum of 22% of validators.
We're convinced that this kind of commitment must be included in any serious protocol from the start. The security of Ethereum relies on it, and we recommend any and all new protocols commit to doing the same.
