Adding team members
Multiple users can be invited to the same account. There is no limit on the number of users you can add.
There are two user types:
| User type | Can view | Can deposit | Can withdraw | Can change settings |
|---|
| Admin | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| View-only | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ |
Recommended setup for family offices
Admin users:
- Client/beneficial owner
- Authorized signatories
View-only users:
- Wealth managers
- Accountants/bookkeepers
- Advisory team members
A common setup is to assign the Viewer role to a team member who will handle the identity verification paperwork, while reserving Admin access for those who need to manage funds.
Frequently asked questions
Can multiple people access the same Byzantine account?
Yes. You can add unlimited users with either Admin or View-only permissions via the invite flow in your account settings.
Can we use multiple email addresses for notifications?
Yes. Each user you invite has their own email address and receives their own notifications independently.
Who should create the account - the wealth manager or the client?
Either can create the account. The important requirement is that the Ultimate Beneficial Owner(s) (the individuals who ultimately own or control the entity) and at least one authorised representative complete identity verification. The account creator can be anyone on the team.
Can someone on my team change the withdrawal bank account to steal funds?
No. Only Admin users can change bank account details or initiate withdrawals. Additionally, every transaction must be signed with the acting user’s passkey - their device-bound cryptographic credential. Even an Admin cannot sign a transaction on another user’s behalf.
